Volunteering Opportunity: Stay and Play Volunteer

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Children, Families, Early Education, Child Care

Description: This busy and thriving Children’s Centre is looking for volunteers to support our staff running Stay and Play sessions. The role will include welcoming new parents and playing with children in a way that supports their learning, as well as helping prepare snacks, keeping equipment clean and tidy and tidying up the room at the end of each session. Opportunities for training may be available for those who wish to develop skills in child care and early education in the future. We need support in sessions on Tuesday 9.30-12pm and Wednesdays 9-11.00am, ideally from people who can commit for at least a year. The role would suit young mums with children of nursery age and volunteers wishing to explore teaching assistant roles. We would also welcome grandparents and male volunteers.

Personal Specification:

Experience of spending time with young children is important, but this could be your own children or other family members. Volunteers with a second language, would be most welcome.

Practical Considerations:

Most of our sessions are in Pound Lane (next to Epsom Primary School), but we also run outreach sessions in the Epsom area (The King’s Church).
