Horton Rehabilitation Services is based just outside of Epsom and provides inpatient rehabilitation for adults with mental health conditions and supports them to plan and achieve their personal recovery goals. Individuals living at Horton are always looking to learn new skills in a range of activities and interests. As a service we are therefore looking for individuals who have particular skills that they would like to share with our service users including (but not exclusively):
Playing musical instruments, IT skills, arts and crafts, photography, DIY, bike repair/cycling, sports and exercise, literacy/numeracy skills, complimentary therapies, wood craft, gardening and more!
As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to be part of the core staff team at The Recovery Centre at Horton Rehabilitation Services and will be offered full training to support you in your role.
You have an interest in health care, particularly working with people in a mental health setting. Empathy towards people who have mental health problems and an interest in supporting them in their recovery to do the things they want to do and live the life they want to lead is essential. You are a good team player with strong communication skills and initiative. The Centre is open Monday-Friday 9.30-12.30, 1.30-4.30 so would suit those available during these times. We are happy to be flexible on days and times within our opening times.
Interview, references, DBS. As part of your induction you will be required to complete mandatory training which will be suitable for the role you are undertaking, The training will be e-learning and face-to-face. The face-to-face training may require you to travel to central London, this expense will be covered by Horton Rehabilitation Services.
