Volunteering Opportunity: Local Community Cancer Support Volunteer

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Social care, Families

Opportunity activities: Befriending, Care work, Support work

Description: If you can offer up to three hours a week you could make a real difference to individuals and families facing life-threatening illness. Our volunteers offer emotional support and practical help to individuals facing life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and late-stage heart and lung disease. It could be sitting quietly with someone while their carer goes out shopping. It could be collecting children from school, shopping trips or transport to hospital. It might just be providing a listening ear to people who often may not have anyone else to share their thoughts with. We provide full training before you begin your volunteer work and you will be supported while you are working by monthly supervision meetings. Please join us now and make a difference.
