Description: We help to prevent family crisis and breakdown in families under stress. Volunteers visit families in their own homes each week to provide friendship and practical and emothional help. Required for 2 – 3 hours, one day a week. This can be flexible- by arrangement with the family. Full training is provided and out of pocket expenses are paid. The next training course will be in April 2018, running one day a week between 9.30am and 2pm for 8 weeks.
What is the organisation looking for?
No formal qualifications are required, but volunteers must have parenting experience and be able to listen with understanding and maintain confidentiality. Must be willing to make a commitment to both the families and to the scheme. Volunteers must be over 18.
Practical considerations:
Visits to family’s own home in the Epsom, Ewell, Banstead area.
