Description: This role involves helping disabled children and adults to ride adapted bicycles. Sessions take place on the running track at The Harrier Centre in Ewell on Thurs and Saturday afternoons and evenings. There is also now a group which meets in the Mole Barn at Leatherhead Leisure Centre on Tuesdays 10am-12.00 pm (volunteers needed a little earlier & later to set up & pack away) You will either be helping individual cyclists or providing extra support to group rides such as visiting Special Schools or Day Centres. Support needed by the cyclists varies from simply walking/riding beside them to give company and reassurance to ensuring they go the right way or not too fast and making sure they are safe. Free accredited Wheels for All Leader training is available to all volunteers, the training includes modules on risk assessments, manual handling and how to plan and deliver safe cycling sessions.
