Description: A bereavement volunteer offers advice and support to clients of all ages and backgrounds. They use listening skills and empathise with clients to enable them to talk about their loss and associated feelings. Confidentiality is an important aspect of their work, as is being non judgemental. The bereavement support training course equips the volunteer with knowledge and understanding of grief to enable them to carry out this role. No previous experience is required, simply a supportive and caring manner and a genuine desire to help those who have been bereaved. The bereavement training course dates 2018: 13th January, 20th January, 3rd February, 18th March and 25th March.

Practical considerations: Most of our branch meetings are held at St Clement’s Church School in West Ewell. Surrey East area covers Reigate and Banstead, Tandridge, Mole Valley and Epsom & Ewell. Training cost £300, which will need to be meet by the volunteer. We also require 2 year commitment from all our volunteers.
